Overview:

  • IDENTIKEY Virtual Appliance is designed as a convenience layer around VASCO's IDENTIKEY Authentication server, giving organizations the option of running their Authentication server separate from all other systems and applications. Some organizations prefer this setup for security reasons or for the sake of minimizing implementation resources. Other companies choose this option to avoid sharing resources among crucial applications, opting instead for several dedicated appliances.

IDENTIKEY Virtual Appliance is a plug-and-play solution that runs in an existing virtual environment and can be installed very quickly and easily. The performance is solely dependent on the virtual environment and the resources that are reserved for the appliance.

IDENTIKEY Virtual Appliance is completely scalable by license and, as such, is suited for enterprises of all sizes. It comes preloaded with the latest IDENTIKEY Authentication server, VASCO's back-end authentication software that powers DIGIPASS Two-factor authentication and supports the entire family of DIGIPASS client authentication devices and functionalities, including one-time passwords, e-Signatures, DIGIPASS for Mobile and software-only authentication.

IDENTIKEY Virtual Appliance offers standard RADIUS support. Additional application support, such as IIS Web Interface or Internet Applications via SOAP, can be added through license update. Detailed information on users, DIGIPASS and policies is stored in an embedded database inside the appliance that can be synced with LDAP Directory Servers.

As it incorporates semi-automated backup and update functionality, it represents a complete managed server. This results in the lowest involvement of administrators and IT resources.

Easy to Deploy

IDENTIKEY Virtual Appliance can be deployed in less than 30 minutes, making Two-factor authentication rollout quick and easy—even in smaller offices with limited IT resources. As it is a purely software based solution, it simply needs to be setup in an existing virtual environment. After this, users and DIGIPASS are loaded, and connections to the internet facing devices as well as to the corporate LAN need to be configured.

Simple Web-Based User Interface

All administration functions are conveniently accessible through a web-based user interface, making remote or outsourced administration possible and presenting new opportunities for managed services providers. Initial installation requires a simple connection to the IDENTIKEY Virtual Appliance through a web browser interface. Role-based administration and helpdesk functionality are provided.

Detailed Reporting and Auditing

The audit console monitors and records all incoming and outgoing RADIUS and web authentication requests on the IDENTIKEY Virtual Appliance. Statistics collected and reported by the audit console give administrators the information necessary to manage their remote access environment. Standard or customized reports can be generated in XML format. Software and Hardware monitoring can be used by external monitoring software via SNMP traps.

Scalability

A flexible licensing system allows for easy expansion of users and DIGIPASS. It also manages the different functional options and connections of the Authentication server. The same license allows to switch between several performance levels, depending on the available virtual environment. IDENTIKEY Appliance can be configured to automatically receive updates. These automated updates perform configuration backups, download necessary software patches and updates and activate new modules and performance categories.
